January 19th at the Geraldine W. Johnson School (GWJS), in connection with the our chapter’s Adopt-a-School program, chapter member Dr. Tabitha Fortt gave a presentation on Cyber Bullying Prevention to 11 participants from the Parents Advisory Council (PAC).

Art has always played an important role in innovation; its impact on design and visual communication is growing. The role the Fairfield County Links play in providing exposure and access to kids in the Arts will help them develop critical skills that will be necessary to compete in today’s digitally engaged economy.
More than 200 kids participated In 2 key programs Arts programs sponsored by the the Fairfield County Links.
February 7th at Stamford Palace Theater, the Links presented the PictureThat! School Arts program. This is a partnership with schools, businesses and community groups.
February 29th the Links presented the Poster Arts program at GWJS. The theme of the poster art contest was healthy habits. Students, faculty and parents were thrilled to participate in the school assembly. Each student received a certificate for participation. A select group of students also received awards for their artwork.
Building on the Healthy Habits Theme: Chapter member, Dr. Emmanuelle Beatty made a presentation at the assembly about healthy habits, followed by a Q&A.

March 24th, Uconn Stamford – Income Disparity: The Links partnered with the Urban League of Southern Connecticut to host the Wealth Gap Forum – Women of Color. Panelists included Links – Sheryl Battles, Valerie Cooper, Kimberly Tapscott and Cynthia Mullins.
March 26th, Uconn Stamford: Raising Awareness – we know that bruises eventually heal, but wounds can last a lifetime. Our National Trends and Services Facet (NTS) partnered with the NAACP and other community organizations to deliver a powerful program on Domestic Violence Prevention. Our member, Dr. Tabitha Fortt participated as panelist; the program was followed by a reception sponsored by the Fairfield County Links. Over 100 people attended this Women’s History Month event and celebration.
